The End of day procedures in order to determine if the cash sales are short or over please follow the procedure below: 1. Run the "Sales Register Listing by Tender" Press 1 for "Invoicing / Point of Sale"
Now Press 2 for "Sales Register Listings" Some Systems may display the second menu where the operator will select "Sales Reports"
Now the operator will select "Sales Register Listing by Tender"
The operator will press "4" and the following screen will appear. This screen allows the operator to determine if she wants to see the report on the screen or print the report. The operator will either press 1, or press 2, changing the Report Destination from Screen to Printer. In this case the operator wished to see the report on the screen so she presses 1 (Screen) and then presses F2 to continue.
All of the reports in the POS System are designed to run for any Date range the operator specifies. Her the operator wants to run the report for 1 day. She will enter the date as shown below:
Now the operator will press F2
Operator presses "Space" to see the rest of the report The Cash Total "396.80" is shown above. This is the Amount that the operator will check the cash in the cash drawer against.
At this point the Cashier will count out the money that will be left in the Drawer for the next day or shift. Count all of the change and then count the smaller denominations of paper money until you get your starting cash sometime called the "Bank". Most store bank is $100.00. So if your change adds up to 35.22 then leave the $35.00 in change in the drawer take the $0.22 out of the drawer and then add $65.00 in singles fives and tens. All of the cash left should equal 396.80. There is a screen in the system that you may use to assist you doing the math to determine if you are short or over, this is the Daily Sales Checkout.
This screen is modified "customized' for each client however the default screen may meet your needs.
The operator will fill in this screen, please note that this screen is two pages long and you may press the page down key to see the rest of the data entry screen. Fill in this form and the system will calculate if you are short or over "the bottom line".
After you have filled in this form, the cash Short or Over field will be calculated and you may save this information by pressing F2 and Print this Info by pressing "Shift F9".
